Soil Testing
Is your lawn looking a bit worse for the wear? It could be due to problems that go a bit deeper than just drought or other common problems. If your lawn has brown or dead patches of grass, or you just don’t think something is right, we can test your lawn to ensure that it is receiving the proper nutrients. This will allow our lawn service technicians to formulate a plan, make the proper adjustments, giving your lawn the correct nutritional balance it needs to grow a healthy, vibrant root system, as well as give you that lush, green lawn you may be missing out on.
Lime, Iron, and Fungicide Applications
Lime
Did you know that the vast majority of homeowners do not know how to keep their lawns in a perfect, chemical balance? High or low pH levels can cause serious damage to your lawn’s ability to have healthy growth. Based on what our soil testing analysis reveals, we can apply the appropriate amount of lime to help rejuvenate your lawn.
Iron
Just as people can, lawns can also develop an iron deficiency, resulting in lackluster, less vibrant, yellow-colored grass. Due to the high iron absorption that is inherent to concrete, this may be especially noticeable along your driveway, sidewalks, curbs, and patios. Our iron application will help counter this imbalance, producing a darker, richer, green-colored lawn.
Fungicide
If your yard has a variety of round, brown patches, small or large, those might be what are known as Dollar Spots or Brown Patch, indicating that you have a lawn fungus problem. Maybe you’re seeing odd-looking, green rings (commonly referred to as “fairy rings”)? Another sign are reddish “threads” growing alongside your blades of grass. Our fungicide treatment can be put down as both a preventative or curative measure. If the lawn is apt to getting a particular fungus every year, as a preventative measure, it is highly recommended that a fungicide be put down.
Lawn Renovation
Topsoil and Seeding
If your yard has unsightly bare spots, often caused by summer stress or fungus, we have the perfect service for you. A fresh layer of topsoil, combined with the appropriate grass seed to match your lawn, can bring your lawn back to something you can be proud of.
Dethatching
Thatch is something that every lawn has, as it’s a build up of dead grass and other plant matter. Lawn thatch creates a thick, very dense, carpet of dead roots and blades of grass. We recommend having your lawn dethatched every other year, ideally in the Fall, to help remove the excess build up of in the lawn. To learn more about our dethatching service, please give us a call at 973-686-1371.
Lawn Aeration
We recommend Lawn aerating be performed every year, in the late Summer or early Fall, when temperatures are
cooler. Aerating puts small holes in the lawn, by pulling out soil plugs, to allow oxygen and other nutrients to more easily enter the ground, which helps establish a better grass root system.
Overseeding
Overseeding, or Over-Seeding, is when we apply a certain amount of grass seed to your yard, helping to compliment the already growing, established grass. When you combine our Overseeding service with our Lawn Aerating, we can help your lawn fill in with a thicker, younger grass, crowding out weeds before they get a chance to grow.
